The “I’ll Make Coffee and Then Start Cleaning” Trap
Everybody knows this lie.
You make coffee with excellent intentions.
Today will be productive.
Today you will:
- organize things
- clean things
- become the responsible adult you briefly imagined during the first sip
Then suddenly it’s two hours later and you’re sitting on the couch researching something wildly unnecessary while your coffee gets cold beside you.
At Exhausted Eater Coffee Co., we respect ambitious coffee delusions.
Because coffee creates possibility.
The first sip makes people believe incredible things about themselves.
Maybe today will be different.
Maybe today the laundry gets folded immediately.
Maybe today the kitchen stays clean for more than fourteen minutes.
Hopeful.
Beautiful.
Completely unrealistic sometimes.
But honestly? There’s something comforting about trying again every morning anyway.
People wake up tired and overwhelmed and still make coffee like:
“Perhaps today we thrive.”
That optimism deserves recognition.
Even if thriving turns into:
- wiping one counter
- answering one difficult email
- and then rewarding yourself with another cup
Small victories count too.
Drink coffee. Eat the day.
