Nobody Warned Me That Adulthood Was Mostly Deciding What to Eat Forever

One of the rudest surprises about adulthood is realizing nobody ever stops asking:
“What do you want for dinner?”

Every single day.

Forever.

At Exhausted Eater Coffee Co., we firmly believe coffee became emotionally necessary around the same time people realized meal planning never actually ends.

Because exhaustion is rarely caused by one giant thing.

Usually it’s:

  • too many tiny decisions
  • too many responsibilities
  • too many notifications
  • too many tabs open emotionally

And eventually your brain reaches a point where choosing pasta feels medically overwhelming.

That’s why coffee rituals matter so much.

Coffee doesn’t ask complicated questions.

Coffee says:
“Here. Warm cup. Tiny comfort. You’re doing okay.”

Honestly? Helpful.

Especially on days where your brain feels like a browser window with seventeen frozen tabs and mysterious background music playing from somewhere.

There’s something comforting about starting the day with a familiar routine before the endless decision-making begins again.

Favorite mug. Favorite roast. Same first sip every morning.

Predictability feels soothing when everything else feels chaotic.

And maybe that’s why exhausted people become so emotionally attached to coffee.

Not because caffeine magically fixes life.

Because comfort matters.

Drink coffee. Eat the day.

(And unfortunately, also decide what’s for dinner again.)
